| Sterling Silver, or jewelry silver as well as coin silver is made directly into silver nitrate. This silver has a purity not over 92.5% silver, the other is generally copper. |  |

| Karat gold or jewelry gold is dissolved by aqua regia. Batches generally contain 50% gold mass and balanced with silver, copper and other base metals. |  |
The silver and remaining base metals are precipitated out and are then later reclaimed. |

The dark colored liquid portion is later separated of
its silver content, and then copper precipitated out. The separated silver is then made back into silver nitrate. |
| After an initial reaction, and the solution separated, this is what is left behind. A sludge consisting mainly of glues, nitrated oils, plastics, organic material, sand, glass, and even bits of gold, and gem stones. |

| Fine silver or .999 fine is usually supplied in troy ounce rectangles or coin-like ingots with various designs. Some governments issue legal tender bullion coins as well. |

| Inert rinsing solvent actually washes the crystals clean. The green or blue is captured by the solvent leaving the finished product visibly white. |

This is created in the laboratory using electrical currents. Minute silver crystals are allowed to grow. It has taken 25 ounces of fine silver to grow this 1.6 grams crystal, most other silver precipitates as a dense powder. |

The best way to open the 'shrink wrapped' bottles is to
simply unscrew the top off while still wrapped, and discard that which
covers the cap.
